Summer Fun Extras

 

Beth Petty graduated from the UNC School of the Arts with a degree in dance and film. She is the Director of the Charlotte Regional Film Commission (CRFC) and has worked with them since 1998. Beth has served on the boards of the several film festivals, Charlotte Art Institute, and the CPCC Film Advisory Board. The CRFC, part of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, promotes on-location filmmaking within the region. The film office acts as a central contact for location and production information. This session will present an overview of what the CFRC represents: the services and information we provide to producers and production companies, how we recruit upcoming film/TV projects to the Charlotte region, the deciding factors in bringing film/TV projects to the Charlotte region.

We will meet at Waltonwood Cotswold (5215 Randolph Rd. 28211) on Monday, August 19th from 10:00 AM—11:00 AM in the theater.  Class fee is $7.00.

 

Caps and Corks returns with a two-hour event at Total Wine, where we will enjoy a class exploring wines from the Southern Hemisphere.

Class begins at 3:30 PM; please arrive by 3:15 PM.

We need a minimum of 14 people to hold the class. There is a small fee of $7 payable to the Shepherd’s Center to reserve your space. The event cost is $20, payable to our hosts upon arrival.

We will meet at Total Wine on Monday, September 23rd, located at 1600 E Woodlawn Rd. 28209, in the Park Towne Village Shopping Center.

 

Beltone, Hearing Aid Centers in Mathews will sponsor a Potting Party at Pike’s Nursery. We will learn about the planting and care of succulents and you will take home a potted plant! You will be able to ask questions of an expert gardener as well. Space is limited to 20 participants.

We will meet at Pikes Nursery (1016 Devore Ln. Matthews, 28105) on Tuesday, September 24th at 11 AM. Class fee is $12.00.
