Shepherd's Center Services

SHIIP  The Shepherd's Center has trained volunteers available to discuss and explain Medicare, Medicare Supplements, Prescription Drug Plans and Medicare Advantage through its Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP). Volunteers are required to complete online training, attend quarterly training and volunteer at least 40 hours annually.  To become a SHIIP volunteer, complete the SHIIP Volunteer Form here and send it to Margery Lindh.  

Tax Filing Assistance Program: Shepherd's Center partners with AARP from February to April annually to provide tax filing assistance.

Transportation Services: Volunteer drivers provide rides to medical appointments.  Transportation is available within all Mecklenburg County zip codes. For more information, call 704-365.1995.
