Plans Change Every Year! In 2024:
Your premium could change, or another plan could be lower;
Your plan could add bigger deductibles for drugs you buy;
Your plan can take some of your drugs off of their formulary;
The prices for your drugs can change, or,
The drugs you take can change
If you do nothing, you will stay enrolled with your current plan, subject to any new rules or prices it makes for 2024.
As the Mecklenburg County coordinating site for the Seniors' Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP), Shepherd's Charlotte's trained volunteers can help answer your questions about Medicare, Prescription Drug Plans, Medicare supplements, Medicare Advantage Plans, and long-term care insurance.
SHIIP is a program of the N.C. Department of Insurance, which offers free guidance to Medicare beneficiaries who need more information about or assistance with their insurance coverage, how Medicare works, what is covered, and what to do next. You'll get unbiased information in simple-to-understand language.
SHIIP counselors are not licensed insurance agents, and they do not sell, endorse, or oppose any product, plan, or company. If you have questions about your specific plan, we encourage you to contact your insurance agent or the insurance company.
